Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA)
Xeomin® is a uniquely purified prescription medicine that is injected into the muscles of mastication. The injection targets the muscle involved with the contraction. Xeomin® is used to treat moderate to severe frown lines and wrinkles. It works by blocking the release of chemicals that cause muscle contractions, so frown lines are then softened.
Xeomin® is comparable to the more commonly known product, Botox®. The difference is that unlike Botox®, which contains accessory proteins, Xeomin® is designed to deliver the toxin without any protein additives. That in turn gives it the name “naked’ toxin. Xeomin® can last up to six months and starts working is as little as 3-7 days.
